Jaime Herrera Beutler Endorsed

Jaime Herrera Beutler

Running for the Office of Representative from Washington’s 3rd Congressional District.

Jaime Herrera Beutler was first elected to Congress at the age of 31 to represent Southwest Washington’s 3rd District.  Jaime was raised in Southwest Washington and brings legislative experience, an independent voice and a desire to serve her home community to Washington, DC.

At 35 years old, Jaime is one of the youngest women currently serving in the U.S. Congress.  National Journal included her on their list of “The Top 25 Most Influential Washington Women Under 35.” She is the first Hispanic in history to represent Washington state in the U.S. House of Representatives, and was named to MSNBC’s “Top 10 Latino Politicians to Watch.”  She is also chair of the Congressional Caucus for Women’s Issues.  The first bill she introduced in Congress was to cut the salaries of Members of Congress, the President and the Vice President by 10%- H.R. 1012 (112 th ): Savings Start With Us Act of 2011 .  Once introduced H.R. 1012 died in committee with only 2 co-sponsors.

While most in congress would simply let the matter go by the way-side and tell their constituents “Hey, I tried”.  Jaime re-introduced the bill in the 113th congress as H.R. 391 (113th): Savings Start With Us Act of 2013. While political experts and pundits have only given this bill a 4% change of making it out of committee, and less than a 1% change of being signed into law,  Jamie is working to reign in congressional spending in a way that is not winning her any friends on Capitol Hill.

Talk about a Game Changing Idea.. actually paying congress less.  Making a stand like that takes guts, re-introducing it takes determination, and both of those actions send a clear message that Jaime has the Nation’s best interests at heart.

Game Changer PAC is proud to endorse Jaime Herrera Beutler’s re-election to congress.
